Classics
YEAR
2019 - 2022
LOCATION
University of Otago
My journey into the world of Classics was sparked by a fascination with Greek mythology, ignited by reading the Percy Jackson series. This passion evolved as I pursued university courses, eventually earning a major in Classics.
Throughout my studies, I engaged with a range of subjects, including the movements and motivations of Alexander the Great, Roman Social History, and the exploration of Fantasies, Phobias, and Families in Graeco-Roman Myth. I also analyzed the writings of key philosophers like Socrates and Plato, developing a deep understanding of ancient texts and their lasting impact on modern thought.
I learned to think critically about right and wrong, human behavior, and decision-making from my Classics education, where I read the works of great philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. These abilities have proven remarkably helpful in my professional life and coursework in digital forensics and cybersecurity.
My understanding of human motivations and thought processes has improved my comprehension of social engineering techniques and cybercrime. Additionally, it provides me with a solid basis for considering the moral dilemmas associated with safeguarding systems, managing confidential data, and engaging in fields such as ethical hacking.
